While I fully agree that we need to spend big can anybody on this forum see this happening?a As long as Lai is the owner of this club it just isn't going to happen. As I've said times before, he has absolutely no interest in us as a football club. This is why we just have to bring our own youngsters through. The likes of Harper, Leko, Edwards, Field etc. have to be given their chance. If they don't make it, so be it, but unless they are given the chance we will never know. I wouldn't discard the likes of Morrison, Houlihan and Brunt as they are useful squad members, it is the playing of Mears, Bartley, Sako that I object to. If it was up to me Harper would replace Barnes today and for God's sake don't play Bartley at all!

Further to my comment regarding loan players, I understand that we are interested in loaning Ben Woodburn from Liverpool. Now, this is one I'd be in favour of as he is a relation of mine, my mother and his great grandmother were sisters. He's also not a bad player to boot and a similar player to Barnes. Probably hypocritical of me after my earlier comments on loanees but it would be great to have a relation playing for my beloved Albion.

We've had loads of good loans.
Alan Miller, keiran Richardson (possibly the best) and Kevin Campbell. Amalfantano another and his goal at Norwich kept us up that season.
Fenton scored one good goal for us then went into obscurity, he wasn't great and just stood out because of the c rap we had at the time.
