We avoid the farce that is the Checkatrade Trophy (and tell everyone we deliberately got relegated as a protest against that godforsaken competition with its sneaky Premiership involvement).

We also get the chance to compete in a totally new competition for us - the FA Trophy (current holder: Brackley Town, apparently).

Plus, if we get through to the first round of the FA Cup and are drawn at home against league opposition, we're a shoo-in to be shown live on TV (because that worked out so well for us last season). Then they'll interview our match-winning goalscorer, who will probably also be working part-time as a postman or on a zero-hours contract for Amazon.

In order to get back to the football league we would need to have a Munto or Allardyce season, and we’ve only had a season like those twice in twenty years and one of those seasons was with pretend money.

We could finish on 95 points like Tranmere did in Season 16/17 and still not get promoted!

    What a horrible depressing thought.

If it's any consolation to you, we're more likely to endure the type of season Chesterfield are having. (Still, not all bad news for the Spirites - they beat Bedford Town with a last-minute goal in the FA Trophy yesterday.)

Honestly you guys have no idea!!!!!!
Spend the early summer in shell shock still grieving over going down. However, this starts to get a little better as players leave and new players come in......however they are most likely to be journeymen or national league standard who you’ve never heard of. The. August arrives and the league cup draw is made........You’re not in it, and it brings it all back again!!!! The league fixtures then come out ( 2 week later than the football league!!!) and you sit and try and work out where the hell these places are....you also see the utter randomness by playing same teams over Xmas and new year!!!!!
You are no longer in check a trade trophy.....might seem a good proposition but there’s still a sense of should be in it!!!
Fa cup qualifying.......now that does hurt!!!
Visiting support in double or even single figures very regularly
Very strange league rules regarding transfers, match day clothing for staff etc........you’ll learn!!!
    The Fa Trophy!!!!!!!! Nuff said
You will probably get picked for a lot of tv matches though............however strange ko times and not much money from them

    Enjoy

Do Any Local BBC radio station broadcast Non league football, full match commentary?
i very much doubt it, so all you Stay at home fans, who rarely bother going down the lane, and who love to discuss and have opinions about whats happening and who they ought to sign, are not going to be pleased , you will have to get interested in something else instead , try Brexit.

I would be Highly surprised if Mansfield town do not get Full match commentary in place of Notts County relegating us to occasional updates,
and will the BBC then put Slater mkII and Mark Stallard on the Dole ?.

BBC Lincs had full match commentary of the Imps' games when they were in the 5th tier, Steve Thompson was the summariser. I think they were able to stream it on the internet via the BBC's own website as well. It could be that Radio Nottm move Notts commentaries to online and, if promoted to L1, Stags take DAB. Mansfield would probably need a new correspondent however, I can't imagine Jake Garner (or whatever his name is) being able to commentate for 90 minutes.
