It can only be because his contract had a trigger clause based on appearances. We must have been really desperate to have given him another one. And if that was the case, it was quite a recent decision, although not right now.

Yeah it's either that we thought we could get by without him at that point and wanted to go back on it, only to later decide to keep him, or it would have triggered a longer contract or higher wage had he played in that amount of games before a deadline that then passed and we could play him again after... Pretty stupid if it's the former and we didn't want to trigger signing him and ruled out starting him (in a game where David Vaughan played on the f*cking wing) only to then change our minds and trigger it anyway

Let’s just hope it’s only until the end of the season. I’m sure most people would have preferred us to keep Turley, but we also need to honour prior agreements (cough, John Sheridan). If we hadn’t re-signed Milsom, he wouldn’t have been able to sign for another club this season either, having already played for Crawley. I guess he is Kewell’s legacy to us.

I wonder if Ward will be the next out or if he signed a season-long deal. Not getting near the first team, so we need to get rid if possible.

My god! We really are deep in the more. It really gets worse by the day. So Mr sideways signs permanently and we lose out on Grant, who is gauranteed to score against us next month.

Can't wait for Milsom to rob Grant and smash one into the top corner against all preconceptions now.

Bob Grant was Jack the clippie in “On the Buses.” Quite a tragic life story, if his Wikipedia page is accurate:
