Bangs in a couple of goals for the u23's this afternoon..wonder how far off he is..possible sub for the weekends game at Stoke perhaps.
would sure settle down some of the injury issues for us if he could come in and play some quality minutes for us. He's been very effective in the past in the championship.
Just watched the highlights - 2 reasonable goals by Brown and the post rattled twice by others
Don't think I ever said anything about Brown, other than that he was a drain on resources and unlikely to contribute this season (which I stand by).
Just as with others, (Klich for instance), if he gets turned around (either by better coaching or regaining fitness), thats fine and I'll be the first to applaud him when he plays for the 1st team, but the club will have spent millions on him and others who were bought as crocks and have taken eons to get fit, whilst the line has been held by youngsters who cost us next to nothing.
We have been very lucky, competitors results have gone our way much more than in other seasons, and injuries have been mitigated by some brilliant performances by the youngsters. Having said that, we are about to see some of the players with real game time under their belts return from injury/suspension. That makes it at least feasible that stability can be regained after a period where things have churned a lot.
How much dependence we are willing to build into a side on the part of Brown, Bamford, Roberts, etc, none of whom have had any significant game time during nearly two thirds of the season (not to mention the introduction of one or more third choice keepers who can't get games from their current club)?
Steady as she goes, and if the likes of Brown and others can be brought into the side to relieve pressure, fine, but the evidence of the Derby game would suggest that we don't need to make wholesale changes to a winning formula
I disagree with the other results have gone our way notion.
We are averaging 2 points per game, you'd be hard pressed Wolves last year aside to find many teams that would be on more points at this stage of year. If we are on 45 and top of league fair enough then we'd be just lucky but we are in promotion form no matter what year or season you put this team in with the points they have.
Joel, if you look at the results over Christmas, and accept that we lost 6 points, then others could have not only closed the gap, but been ahead of us come the New Year, had results gone their way, as it was, we stay top which is great. I'm not saying we haven't done well, but that other results have helped rather than hindered (e.g. just last weekend, either Norwich or West Brom could have come away with three points, as it was, they got one each).
