I wonder if Francis begby will have the balls to turn up on the night and get all his moans and groans off his chest directly to club members faces !!? It’s his ideal opportunity.

yea sorry palmylad ,had a wee outburst there reacting to aloreburns cheeky comment lol ,iv heard what iv said in my above post mentioned at these meetings before and theres bound to be a few asking the same at each meeting so cant see any point ,with queens currently in a decent position with a reasonably good squad ,all i wanted to hear about is how thay are planning on keeping a forward momentum to see queens move to the next level ,as iv said iv heard people asking this at nearly every meeting at some point ,never heard any concrete answers to it tho lol .

    ⚪️QOS SLO Open meeting⚪️

    Palmerston lounge bar

    Monday 28th January 7pm

This was the 2nd open meeting arranged by the current SLO committee which once again gave supporters groups and individual supporters a chance to ask questions and voice any complaints. Thanks to Mark Blount,Danny Armstrong and Sam McNeish from the club for turning up and answering any questions and taking ideas on board.

Apologies were received from Sandra Brown and Grant Hamilton

The committee and the club would like to thank the 30 supporters who turned up and hopefully enjoyed the event

*Designated smoking area-Mark will ask various other championship clubs regarding their stance and take this to the next board meeting

*Reduction for entry fee for Falkirk match 23rd March to celebrate the clubs 100th year-Mark stated various reduced/free entry schemes have been tried before but have been relatively unsuccessful-Danny added that hundreds of tickets are given out to schools every week and the uptake is very poor but also stated that the junior blues is at a record high of 409.Mark voiced his concern over the poor home crowds and stated the board are always open to ideas to try and generate bigger gates.

*Fighting/centenary fund-worried this may have a negative effect on the current weekly/deluxe draw-stated this would be a separate account solely for the playing budget-it is hoped to have various incentives to join the fund including cash prizes

*Queens weekly draw-Both Mark and Danny stated the draw was doing very well-various concerns from supporters about lack of advertising/promoting the draw especially the bigger cash prizes-this is something that has been voiced several times between the slo committee and the club and has been improved but Danny is going to work on promoting this futher-it was suggested to present the £500/£1000 winners their cheques on the pitch-also suggested that the big prizes are advertised more online and there is a link to join the weekly draw on every post

*The young team asked why they were not permitted to use a small megaphone at Palmerston but this was ok at various other grounds-Sam explained this was merely a safety issue as if the current Palmerston sound system was to fail the only means of getting messages across during an emergency was a megaphone, this has already been explained to the young lads and Sam stated that they are keen to work with the young lads and encourage them to create as much atmosphere as possible.

*Long term training plan and any plans to move training to Dumfries-Mark stated in an ideal world this would be great for the club and the community but at the moment this was not an option as it was hard enough to attract players from the central belt whilst competing with other clubs with bigger budgets-the club are hoping in the near future to lay a similar surface to Palmerston on the KGV which will generate extra income etc-Mark also stated the facilities at Hamilton Palace where the first team currently train were excellent and in an ideal location-it was suggested even bringing the players down once a month or on a more regular basis to integrate with the community and local schools Mark will take this to the board

*Jim McCormick asked about the idea which was brought up to all the supporters groups from the slo committee regarding a joint end of season dance-the response was pretty poor and it was suggested the Doonhamers travel club run their own event this year but the slo committee will be more than happy to help

*Centenary match-it was asked about opponents etc-Mark/Danny both stated several teams have been asked/suggested with Leeds and Valencia included. It is hoped to get Leeds United although it may be into May this year before they can confirm once they are aware of which league they will be in next season-Danny stated several large companies including British airways and tescos have been contacted regarding sponsorship etc for this event

*Large sign lying in arena car park-this is on the clubs to do list to remove or fix this

*date for agm-Mark stated the club were awaiting the return of the accounts and it was hoped agm would be towards the end of February

*lighting lack of or faulty lighting at the Portland drive side of the new stand and covered terracing-this has been brought up several times by the SLO committee and Mark and Sam are going to chase this up and address this issue
