The Pikey's would go mental if they sold him to you lot whilst they are challenging for the play offs .

Would be funny though none the less .

Guessing they'd want in excess of £1.5m (rightly so) and the player would expect a tidy pay rise for making the step up, that rules us out straight away. I'd love to have him here but with our financial restraints and the fact half a dozen other championship clubs will be interested too means our chances are virtually nil.
I agree though it would probably send their fans over the edge, selling their best player to their arch enemies!

Mentioned him 18 month ago when 250k would have bought him. Snarling aggressive type of player so probably wouldn't fit into warnes Sunday school type player

It is possible that marquis has a set fee release clause and, dependant upon the amount, we may be able to meet that. Im almost certain we could double his donny wages.

Having said that, if we can match any release clause then so can every other championship club. If we can double his wages then every other championship club can triple, quadruple, etc, etc his wages.

Thus I think, in the words of the legendary Muhammad Ali, we have two chances of signing john marquis: "Slim" and "none". And slim just left town!

Remember when it was a farm house. Used to pinch the odd apple from the garden. Started drinking in there in '78 and have some good memories of the place.
