Undersoil heating is expensive to install and very expensive to actually use

Considering that, in nearly 7 years, we haven't had one game postponed due to pitch conditions and that, if the conditions were bad enough to freeze the pitch the ice outside the stadium would probably scupper the game anyway, I would say that Stewart almost certainly made the right decision not to install it.

Most Championship teams have it though I would think.

Sounds from that he didn't expect us to be in the Championship!

I think that it's a condition of the Premier league that you have to have it installed (could be wrong). There are so many teams int Championship now that have been int Prem that could be why they have it. It'll be interesting to see Brentfords ambition if they have it installed in their new stadium.

There is a cheaper solution that probably fits our budget better. I've noticed that my lawn never freezes above the septic tank

No worries about the pitch freezing. I can see it from here that it's going to warm up.
