    The Dobmeister

A letter purporting to be from a Dr Werm, is in todays Daily Record. Verbatim..... "There's just no stopping Queen of the South's goal machine Stephen Dobbie. With so many goals this season, I can see a Scotland call-up beckoning, just like his manager said"

All very good but who the hell is Dr Werm? Could be Mikey Doyle having a laugh

If Dobbie works his magic today against Dundee and hits a couple of goals, - it would inevitably make the Scotland manager sit up and take notice.

The feeling is that scoring 32 goals at a lower level is all very well, - but could that prolific rate translate to the highest level?

Almost definitely not, - although with the players beside Dobbie being of equal or greater skill, - then he should be given every opportunity to score, as he is in the Championship.

So the Dundee match is critically important to Queens in terms of Cup progression and also in potentially giving Dobbie the recognition he very much deserves.

If the players come off the field following this game knowing that they have given their all then that is all we can ask and hopefully this will be enough to get into the draw for the next round. Mon the South.

Yup the guys did us proud today and by all accounts were unfortunate to only draw now let's finish the job at Palmerston on the 29th. Slightly disturbed to hear the manager say that an agent has approached the club about the availability of one of our players but was tight lipped as to who the individual was. Hopefully we can thwart this approach in the short term and keep this squad together.

Goal number 33 for Sir Stephen yesterday and now on 141 goals for Queens. He’s a absolute legend.

Just to add , there’s been some serious questions asked on Facebook if Jim Patterson’s goalscoring record of 251 is correct. If you were to count his goals in Iain McCartneys book he’s on 256. This somehow needs checked by somebody as apparently the official club minutes are from from accurate
