Waghorn better in the middle as a striker?

Having watched the match it appeared that Waghorn is better suited as a striker in the middle of the park rather than as a winger as he’s been played recently.

Thought he grew into the match as time went by was able to use his strength and power to get in some great positions!

Totally agree...very strong and with an obvious eye for goal. Wasted out wide.
Think the same is true of Lawrence though no one would have thought it last night when he failed to get even one of three very decent chances on target.

He was a handful last night and most of all appeared to enjoy himself.

    Lawrences headed attempts were dreadful.

My boxers (dogs) can head the ball better!!
I've coached 7 year olds who can head better.
As Jim would say, head the ball... my arse!!

After the Reading game, Lawro himself said he probably wouldn't score another header......

He is better as a striker... but I prefer Marriott, and Waghorn gives us good balance on the right.

Which is why I’d give 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 a go. Love to see Marriott and Waghorn playing together upfront.

I'd play or at least try 352 with two wing backs

Exactly...especially seeing as all our available full backs seem to be frustrated wingers.

Love to see, subject to availability, Carson (or Roos); Tomari, Keogh, Wisdom; Malone, Mount, Huddleston, Wilson/Holmes, Bogle; Waghorn, Marriott.

Suspect Wilson may be injured but Holmes is worth a shout anyway.
