AH said one of the things he was impressed by (he is easily impressed though) is that Ardley had done his presentation at the interview featuring the areas where Notts were leaking goals and how they could be prevented.
I've said before that I think NA was a broken man before he arrived and knew it, hence trying to take a break before AH talked him into cutting it short and taking on the job. AH was desperate to get someone in before the January window but I suspect that if he'd looked closer at his interview he may have picked up on the signs of NA's state. On a personal note for Ardley, this must be a truly demoralising season: I think his recent combined league record for Notts and Wimbledon is played 22, won 2, drawn 4, lost 16. Horrible stats that would depress anyone. Allied to the fact that he’s living away from home in what look like student digs, I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks away this season if/when we go down.
NA might be the right man at the wrong time?
The dangers of having an owner who thinks he knows something about league football I'm afraid.
