I thought he looked decent when he came on, faded towards the end of the game.

Showed promise but it's his first game, you can't tell yet.

Maybe he was less like a fish out of water and more bewildered at how poor the team he's just signed for are?

    Yep agree fire,
think thats a bit harsh. In the little time he was on he broke up play a number of times and got forward to support the attack. If he had played all 90 mins like that maybe the score would have been different. The big problem t oday was nobody was putting a foot in in midfield.

I can remember a wayward pass on the edge of the box but he was hardly alone in making wayward passes today.

And if we go down he'll certainly be a good addition.

Today was terrible for lots of reasons.
Tactics, atmosphere, intent, it was a relegation performance.
Don’t think the manager will change so it’s only one way I’m afraid.

    Bit premature criticising Crookes.
Smudger had one of worst debuts I,ve ever seen at Oldham. It was all the bad bits of an Alex Revell performance in one 20 min spell.
But look how he turned out
Crookes did some good things but lost his touch a few times. Way too early to judge and he needs to adjust to the league and team mates

    Told ya

you sign someone, you play them for 20 mins and automatically he’s not good enough

I don’t think we will see best out of him until next year

Just had a look at how Brentford acquired some of their standout players

Romaine Sawyers Walsall in 2016 ran their midfield
Rico Henry Walsall same year left hand side
    Goal scorer x2
Mokotjo FC twente £1m and a general live wire all match

They,re the markets we could shop in if we do our homework

Rotherham the team to play to end a losing run and Leeds have lost 4 in 5, could be painful.

Why didn't we learn? They left a player running in late for 3 of their goals.

    Goodbye championship.

Been reading the Brentford forum and apparently they do struggle with high balls into the box and more so than usual as their best defender wasn't playing as he's just signed for Bournemouth so maybe Warne's tactics weren't as bad as I thought.

But seeing as we always play like that anyway maybe it was just a coincidence.
