    Order ! Question Order !

What is the Worlds Most Busiest Man's next move regarding the current plight of Notts County.

We have heard much about Training Grounds and Five Year Plans, sadly we currently have seven**** games to save this Great Old Club.

    Over to you Mr Hardy.

Don't you know we bossed the game yesterday? Short of signing 3 or 4 stellar signings I'm afraid the jig is up, Bridge. I am mostly vaping a laudanum based concoction at the mo. It's called Magpies Comfort. Actually, I think it's working.

    Well, he's banned everyone else.

The poster Bernard Bresslaw comes to us very infrequently, but when he does, it is usually at times of doom, like the Grim Reaper. But his analysis is always spot on. So what he said, on whatever thread he said it.

Hardy and Trew have a lot in common, in their different ways. And let's not overlook the fact that it was Hardy as much as anyone having a go at Trew near the end. The Tweet in the link, for example.

Thanks to @Simone18641264 for pointing that out.

Yes, that's a case of the biter now being bit, for sure. Alan Hardy certainly used the ugly mood of the fans to put pressure on Ray Trew back then, and now that same worm has turned on Hardy himself.

I think there are similarities between Trew and Hardy. I don't think either of them came in with bad intentions, in fact far from it, but they both like the attention and praise and perhaps naively expected the gratitude for their investment last forever. Both seemed surprised that their popularity changes with results. Fans don't want to know how much you've invested or how hard you've worked, only how much you've won. It may be unjust, but that's football!

Owning a club, especially in the lower leagues, is an act of virtual insanity. If you're lucky and results go well, the manager and the players get the praise and see their careers enhanced, but when results go badly, no matter how much you've invested, the knives come out for the people at the top. The football fan's expression of frustration goes broadly along the route: 'Boo the players' > Call for the manager's head > Cry 'Sack the Board'.

You can't really blame fans for being what they are, because football is all about escapism. They pay a lot of money to watch their very well paid team and they expect their dreams to be delivered, so when instead they are given a nightmare, they will hit out at whatever they can see, whether it's entirely fair or not.

Anybody investing in a football club these days should have done enough due diligence to know that this is what you're signing up for. If I won the Euromillions next week, I would certainly NOT be buying a football club!
