Prediction League - Shrewsbury Town - FA Cup

After beating Stoke City at Stoke in their 3rd round replay, Shrews will host Wolves in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. This will be the 4th straight round that Shrews have been able to host their FA Cup match. Two ended in 1-1 and forced road replays, but they did beat S****horpe in their first try at home in the second round. John Askey had Shrews in 18th place of League One and was let go by the front office. They went on to hire none other than Sam Ricketts, who we will remember as one of the keys to our League One title season. He’s kept them above the relegation zone, but other than advancing to the 4th round, they haven’t done much. Good to see a former Wolves captain in management, but time will tell how his tenure goes. I think Wolves will put out a partial first team squad, with a few regular subs getting a chance at a start.

    Shrewsbury Town 1-3 Wolves

We need to take this seriously, we have seen what has happened to some Premier League teams in the Cup this year.

    Doherty.
I agree. We put out pretty much the first team squad against Liverpool IIRC. I expect it to be very similar with maybe Traore instead of Costa, MGW in place of Moutinho, Vinagre for Doherty or Jonny. And I believe Boly's suspension is only for Prem matches, so he might get the start in the back three with Deondecker for Bennett.

I think that Patricio, Neves, Moutinho, Jimenez, Jota and maybe Jonny will all be bench warming or rested, with a view to Wet Spam on Tuesday. If so I can see this being tricky... 2-1 Wolves Cavaleiro.

Boly is suspended Mich, red cards apply to all competitions.

Must be cards in continental play that only apply to that competition. Make sense since that’s overseen by UEFA and the Prem, FA Cup, EFL Cup etc are overseen by the domestic FA

Suspensions for the accumulation of yellow cards apply only to the competition in which they were given, red cards to all competitions apparently.

I don't want to watch a partial team with a few subs. If i could get to the game from South Africa(ex-pat) I would expect a first team squad to build a score and then gives the subs a run with the price of tickets.
