Poor lad never had a chance, I've sailed in that area off Alderney, the currents are unbelievably strong, even if he survived the crash they'd never find him, he'd be carried miles away by the time any rescuers arrived in the area, then it was dark and the water would be near freezing...…….

    .

odd this....seems that cardiff didn't charter it - but (as I read it) offered him a commercial flight but was turned down - so who found it - him, his agent ?....this obscure U.S N registered - U.K based plane for hire ? - not the kind of find that'd easily come up on google - so who knew who ?.... then taking said single engined plane on a night flight with one part time pilot in a snow storm - flying straight through an ice zone over water......all Very Strange ?

It is what it is BT, that water moves, it moves so fast you can't sail against the tide, you have to use the engine. It's very sad, you can be as optimistic as you want, but if you go down in that area at night, in winter, you have virtually zero chance of coming out alive.

The search team are now agreeing with you sinkov. The theory is the single engine plane iced up and crashed. Both pilot and the passenger are now feared dead.
