Don't come on here much now as it's too political. Detest politics and politicians too.

I thought that was an aniseed flavoured beverage much beloved of the French, a varietal of Pernod? Or is this a no deal Brexit reference to the fate of the southern entrance of the Euro tunnel?

I think we all hate politicians, OTR, but they are like genital herpes: won't go away, stuck with them forever and ruin some of the more enjoyable aspects of life

Wouldn’t disagree with your sentiment about politicians or Brexit, OTR...but there’s really only one political thread and ultimately the outcome of Brexit will have more impact on all of us than where DCFC finish this season. Rather talk about football though.

Unfortunately, the other board, despite in my opinion being a better platform, hasn't taken off. It's a shame, I'm all for a total football forum, but its all died a death. FacePamplet isn't much good for quality conversation either.

Means the return of talking rubbish in the pub is the best way to go - so not all bad!

I find it odd that people "hate" politicians, that being the case you'd think there would be hundreds of people who flt they could do better and be clamoring to get into politics?

But no everyone is fine to bitch and moan about them, but then does bugger all to change things! Now why is that? Could it be that actually being a politician isn't all that its cracked up to be/ Whatever a persons good intentions or whatever they do, someone somewhere will have a moan, critcise or at worst abuse and attempt to kill you.!

What few people do see is the immense amount of dull grinding work in their constituencies most politicians do and thats a shame, because some of the stuff they do at grass roots level really changes peoples lives for the better.

One only has to look and if you can go and experience in life in a country where there is not a semblance of democracy, where corruption abounds to perhaps be a little thankful, that whilst our political system isn't perfect, it is far better than many others.

Of course there are those whom I despise, not because of their politics, though I find it hard to find any sympathy for the DUP and their ilk, but due to their actions, but then don't we expect politicians to be somehow not human? They are after all the same as other humans, subject to the same weaknesses, error of judgement etc.

Also people generally don't understand that there are relatively few simple answers in life, that getting things done involves compromise, and very often accepting that a perfect world is not reality, getting everything one thinks one should isn't possible if everyone else wants something different and so and so forth.

Its an easy lazy statement to hate politicians and politics, unfortunately without it, you would not enjoy many of the benefits of the life you lead today.

I fear you’ve just answered your original question there.
