Not sure how this is going to come out format-wise, but it's interesting to see the bottom of League 2 at a similar stage last season for games played, goal difference and points total:
20 Morecambe 31 -12 31
21 Crewe 30 -18 29
22 FGR 31 -21 29
23 Chesterfield 31 -24 27
24 Barnet 30 -17 22
And here's today's table - remarkably similar:
20 Cambridge 30 -22 32
21 Yeovil 28 -4 30
22 Morecambe 30 -17 29
23 Macclesfield 30 -19 27
24 Notts County 29 -30 21
Basically, if we get a point against Lincoln next week we will have the same number of points as Barnet at the same stage of the season - but with a substantially worse goal difference (-30). The same Barnet who averaged 2,113 and didn't have a pot to relieve themselves in.
Barnet eventually finished on 46 points, getting a decent 24 points from the last 16 games - which still wasn't enough to stop them going down on goal difference (4 worse than Morecambe, on -19). I'll be amazed if we even manage to beat bottom team Chesterfield's final tally of 38 points and a goal difference of -36.
