I have some questions...

1) who is this Paul Coutts numerous people have been going on about?
2) why do we think Paul Coutts is a potential signing?
3) is Paul Coutts any good?

He seems to get almost as much air time on here as that Ben Henegan lad who I've also never seen play.

I mentioned Paul Coutts only because he is from Aberdeen and had been released having had lots of injuries. I assume others have thought the same and it snowballed.

Ahh ok, makes a bit more sense now. Aberdeen lad, midfielder, free, played in lower English leagues, hardly played for last 2 years... I imagine he's had some horrific injuries at some point too? I did have a quick look on YouTube but could only see clips of him talking, rather than actually playing.

He has very decent pedigree but its all a bit Stephen Gleeson for us to justify a >£5k/week signing

Djoum looks like he is heading to Cyprus.

All eggs on McGeouch probably.

We need two and its not very obvious what to do

Dylan is highly regarded by the coaching staff, we did try previously to sign him, he would be a good replacement for Shinniesta imho.

Paul Coutts is an Aberdonian midfielder who we released as a youngster because he was too small, he then signed for Cove and after impressing for them got a move down south where he has played over 300 games in Championship and League 1 for Peterborough, Preston, Derby and Sheffield Utd. He stated in an interview he would be open to coming back home and playing for us. Blackburn, Sunderland and Rangers have apparently expressed an interest in him.

He’s a completely different player to Shinnie.
McGeoch is a passer of the ball that tries to keep possession & the ball “ticking over”.

Shinnie is hustle, bustle & breaking things up.

McGeoch is a better footballing version of Ryan Jack.

My major concern is not his ability.
It’s his terrible injury record.
