Very good player there and worth the risk in my eyes
I agree he is a good player but the problem with what you suggest is that if he gets crocked in September, which is a fair bet, it leaves us most likely with only 2/3 centre backs until we can do something in January so after allowing for suspensions and other injuries no doubt we have defensive issues for a number of games. No point in saving money if we can't put a decent team on the park

Aye... 2 or 3 years ago?
Taylor has been transfer listed by the 15th worst team in the fourth tier of English football.

    Catch 22 Stav.
No doubt he’s a good player.
A fully fit, or even 90% fit Hoban would find better than us.
But the obvious & perennial problem is that he’s seldom fit & now had TWO serious, career threatening injuries.
    Too much of a gamble.
We can’t afford what would be potentially our highest earner PROBABLY injured most of the time.

I don't understand the empty happy clapping speshul bus mentality you are driving when it comes to being worried about what can be achieved without Mcinnes though.

    Top 6 is piss easy.
You’re talking to the wrong driver.
I’m net the one saying we won’t finish top 6.

Where we will be can only be guessed come August when the squads of all the teams are in place.

    Right now? A guess...
Fighting for 3rd with Hearts & Hibs.
    Killie 6th if Clarke leaves.
    That’s a fair, realistic post

Is that why we finished 8th as recently as 2012–13?

Complacency is a dangerous game, if it can bring down great civilisations then it can take down AFC....

    That's my point.

Supporters like afc1903mad and JJ will have us being a Dundee United type club. Celebrating being not utter pish.

Roll the dice, one has to stay fit eventually!!
