    Missing out

Ruth is a very good centre-forward and has a bright future ahead of him, and Rangers will be a bit disappointed that the Gers have reportedly missed out on him.

However, given that he is only 17 years of age, Rangers can still land the forward in the coming years if he develops well at Aberdeen as he is expected to, and the Gers can then put him straight in the first team

Symantics. We pulled the plug after he knocked us back.

Story doing the rounds was that a deal look likely until his old man, who is his agent, started playing silly bu**ers, so we quite correctly pulled the plug.

Although, why we offered him a deal in the first place is questionable.

    Correct

He's no better than Devlin or Taylor, or Considine

I see the PJMs have signed a boy from S.America. I’d imagine there’s something wrong with him but if they can scout players from there...

At least he won’t be homesick in the Dundee favelas

I remember Willie Miller saying he was the director of football when Shaugnessy signed as a youngster and his father was very difficult to deal with.

I read the other day that he has put the football stuff to the side for a bit as he's been doing some Open University stuff and has exams shortly, after which he'll get his future sorted. Also quoted as saying it's an important decision for him given that he's about 27 now. If he's going to have a go down south he'll have to do it now - and you'd imagine that's where he'll end up, knowing that if it doesn't work out he'll be able to find a club up here to take him again in a season or two.
