Motherwell Sprint to a Crushing Win over Livingston

An outstanding opening blitz saw Motherwell race into a 3-0 lead over Livingston at Fir Park. The goals from Curtis Main and a double from Jake Hastie were enough to deliver a fourth consecutive win with the help of a third clean sheet. - External Link

Important win that continues our upward push. Hastie showed some great moves and we should be getting him signed up PDQ. The guy that really impressed me was Gorrin. Excellent touch, good at breaking up attacks and at tackling and can distribute. Calm on the ball. Game over in a short time and that might account for subdued crowd - plus a very poor away support who gave their team no backing. All round good display by our team.

An encouraging win yesterday as blew Livingston away in an early 20 minute spell. Great to see the likes of Turnbull and Hastie turn it on. A goal will also help Main's confidence. My MOTM however was Gorrin. He was very effective in both attack and defence and he's starting to prove himself now. Certainly worth a contract extension. Dunne and Aldred look to be the right pairing at the back. Ariyibi looks exciting on the wing but is a bit raw yet. He's certainly unpredictable.

Our style of play is now far more pleasing on the eye but I just wonder what brought about this massive change away from playing hoofball.

It'll be an interesting summer and you now have to wonder what the future holds for players like Hartley and McHugh, with youngsters like Maguire still to come through. Exciting times after a disappointing start to the season.

On one level we took no nonsense; on another level, we had better football players than Livi. Our attack now has players who carry substantial threat - I hope Gboly is managed well; he doesn't always know where he's going yet, but when he gets it together he'll be worth the ticket money on his own. Gorrin sometimes dwells a bit on the ball, but he's a player. And Jake Hastie looks the business. We now have a core of players who are well above 'journeyman' level, and who seem to be bringing more out of each other. Better days.

Great first half - job was done early doors.
A no-nonsense back 4, and 6 fellas ahead of them with a mixture of skill, solid tackling and the mystery ingredient ... pace !!
No negatives from yesterday. Well happy.

Had to laugh when heard Robinson post match interview .. “had seen them play better”. When ? .... been utter cack for months.
The majority of players been u21 2017/18 and why only now is he playing .. they are ready and what a difference.
Accept our league position now not a concern (mid-table) but play them till season end and prepare them for next season.

McCormack way off the pace & overweight but has a nice facial complexion ... who does his eyebrows ?

Saw him in the Turkish Barbers in the precinct today getting his 'brows' done ... looked quite charming, until I noticed the 3 Greggs pies he was munching on !
