Hi Eric, there were interested parties there. I understand a member of the Australian consortium was there. But because of the NDAs, they are largely keeping quiet. I don’t believe we will here anything until the sale is well advanced. I know the chairman wants it and expects it to be completed within the next four weeks. There is genuine interest from America but not the Molloys. There were talks with the Molloys in the past when Ray put the club up for sale, but as I understand it they were waiting for their investors. But apparently there have been several credible enquiries, but as always you do get time wastes, tyre-kickers and those looking to raise their profile.

I can't see it happening within 4 weeks, we need to be clear of relegation first and I'm sure prospective buyers will take time to do the due diligence..

Or praps Biggun would like to get it done sharpish before relegation is a certainty!!!

Plus, then it technically doesn't happen on his watch, does it?

I guess he could do a deal which involves an immediate payment of x million, then an additional y or z million in the summer depending on which division we're in next season.

Well this season we've normally served up XXXX either side of half time so not much to change I guess

Apparently the plan when they were interested in Charlton was to install Kewell but that was when his stock was relatively high and Charlton were at a low point. If Ardley is to succeed in keeping us up, I'd suggest they would keep Ardley in place if they were serious about progression
