We've been a league side for 157 years and we are also one of the founder members of the football league but as stated above that doesn't give us a right to be in it next season,I genuinely fear that we will drop into the National League in May as this is the worst season that I've ever experienced in my 40 years supporting Notts,we have been in the bottom two before but not for so long or so early,if we do drop I doubt that we will bounce back again, only two clubs have done that since the two up two down formation and Chesterfield who got relegated to the National League last season are in the bottom four of it this season
Hardy has put £10m into us in the past two years,a fortune for league two and now after a month of arguing with fans, falling out with Forest over loans and accidentally posting his tadger on Twitter he's had enough and put the club up for sale,it's been a complete disaster with a chairman who thinks that he knows more than the manager when it came to players,we've had three managers alone this season and it won't surprise me if we make it four before the season is out, whoever takes over Notts won't put anything like £10million into it and we will just be a clubs from the old days,Forest already have 4/5 times the fan base that we have and it will only get bigger, our away stand holds 5000 and it usually is way too big for away fans and thats going to get worst when we drop
I've supported Notts since 79,I usually went to watch Arnold FC then one week when Arnold was away I decided to watch a bigger club,God stepped in and Notts was at home and I was hooked, that same season Forest won the European Cup and then again the following year,Gods got a funny sense of humour at times, anyway fingers crossed for the rest of the season,it's not over until the fat lady sings.....but she's started to gargle
I hope you stay up Coco, The Original Magpies , Links to Juventus too , always enjoy visiting your club , my last visit was the day we won and Howard Kendal got sacked ( forest won at Owls that day 5-0 I think ) we were enjoying a nice quiet drink by the side of the Trent , when all of a sudden we were invaded by the Kexboro Reds , " Animal's " drinking out of flowervases etc , they took the bar over ( staff fled ) free drinks for any Tarn Fan ,

Heard of the place but never ventured in , notorious boozer I've heard .

Some crazy times with Kex reds in the early 80's but wouldn't have missed it for owt .

We were too daft or drunk to be a threat to anybody in reality , weren't a nasty bunch just drank way too much that was good for us and sometimes it ended up on the wrong side of the plod .

We even managed to get escorted art of the east end of london and wi niver saw a ball kicked .

West Ham away in the league cup 1980 , driver couldn't find bloody ground so when it got to quarter to nine everybody said feck it , find a boozer , we'd bin driving rarnd in circles for 4 hours .

Got int pub and got stuck in , well we war thirsty after all that shenanigans , all ont tables singing n dancing , pyssing abart and landlord phoned old bill , chuffin hell half the met turned up , sirens going , dogs , the whole bloody lot , feckin hell .

Escorted us back to M1 , I think driver war pleased cos he dint know feckin way , still bin there nar .

We once got a mention in chronicle , the notorious kexbro reds Lodge called us , I dunt no how he knew that , niver saw him on an away day , urban myth .

I agree with this. I sat in the upper tier with my Barnsley friend and witnessed us being totally toothless and dire in the 4-0 FA Cup defeat late last year and it was clear then that without a major overhaul we were doomed. That overhaul began with the appointment of Neal Ardley, who so far seems to know what he is doing. Performances have improved slightly and we can only hope that results will follow. Last Saturday at home to Lincoln 2 Lincoln players had tissue paper stuffed up their noses 10 minutes in, so at least we are showing some proper fight at last. I have a warm feeling that we might claw our way to 3rd from bottom come May, which would be a huge relief, although it may go to the wire.

Evidence shows that Notts are the most stressful club to support, so we should be used to it by now, but if we do fall through the trapdoor, we can but smile as we do so.

For all you Barnsley folk, give my regards to the Frumptarn Guggenband. Cracking set of people and a credit to your town.
I have fond memories of many visits to Oakwell in the the 70's and 80's, - particularly the Ronnie Glavin years.

Just watched this Guggenband on YouTube..... would make for cracking half time entertainment. Or entertainment in a fan zone. Are they still going? Anyone know.

Yes the Guggenband are still going strong. Numerous Gig's throughout the summer months in and around South Yorkshire, plus annual trips to the continent - particularly Germany.

    Likewise Jules
They would certainly add to the match day experience
Not that I would know of course

The Guggenband rehearse once a month at the Factory Music Rooms, near the Alhambra. I'm told they wil be in town tomorrow, Saturday between 12 and 4 doing a spot of busking.

Anyway, back to the football. Good luck for the rest of the season. I hope you go up, back to the land of endless local derbies.
