On the contrary. People are more empowered to express their views and voices that were lost in previous generations now have a platform.

I guess what you dont like is that people are now made accountable for what they say, the majority of the time due to their views or opinions being based on anecdotal evidence. I mean shock, even women are now getting a voice properly.

Throw away comments are now challenged and this is what should happen.

Louis, swearing for many people is the norm and often one particular word is their main adjective, - which is quite sad really, - but that doesn't make them bad people, - its just a shame that the use of such language has become almost acceptable.

We could debate the semantics of language for an eternity, - but that is not what I'm concerned about per se, - it is rather the offence that is caused to others by careless statements being made in a public domain. That is the essence of my point: if by saying X will I cause offence to Y?

Now on a board such as this, - inevitably people will call into question the effort put in by a player, - or the tactics of a manager and that is perfectly acceptable, - but making allegations about people's personal lives (for example) is a completely different matter, as that potentially causes offence to a host of other innocent people.

Francis referred to the fact that it is "aw banter at the end of the day" and that's fine, - but as we all know, there's a fine line between banter and abuse, - and that is why we have got to be so careful.
