X-trail is diesel and diesel cars are being shunned and the X Trail isn't a popular model anyway.

Better tell Swales he's conveniently forgot to mention the two new models to be built at Sunderland creating another 2,600 jobs

If your that connected then you would know that most businesses cannot afford the cost of being "well prepared" for Brexit, whatever well prepared means - as for government information well if you believe what is being pumped out then I worry.

Perhaps those businesses at local level have **** all trade with the EU- or more likely do not actually appreciate what the effects of even a Brexit with some form of deal will be. Its not negativity to note that millions of punds of economic activity and thousands of jobs ahve already left the Uk economy, why even one of the arch proponents of Brexit, James Dyson is relocating to Singapore - mm now could that be due to the fact that Singapore already has a free trade deal with the EU and of course he will benefit from a low tax rate - you gotta love these patriots that say one thing and then do the opposite!

The fact is that there are literally thousands of supply chains that work within the EU, but nobody knows how they will work after we leave. Brexit is probably the single most economically suicidal act this country has done in recent decades.

Hmm James Dyson is relocating to Singapore No he's not he's moving his HQ there Every Dyson vacuum cleaner has been made in Malaysia since 2002 every washing machine since 2003 All their motors have been produced in Tuass Singapore since 2013 Dyson will continue to employ 1,700 in Wiltshire in their battery production factory But don't let the facts cloud your judgment

The Nissan decision stems from -

Japan now has a free trade deal with the EU so the need to base manufacturing capacity within the EU is much less.

If the Uk is not in the EU, then there is a great deal of uncertainty as to what regulations for cars made here for export to the EU will require, will the UK still align with Eu regulations? So easier to manufacture in Japan for export direct to the EU, no need to worry about UK/EU arrangements.

Uncertainty over the future of diesel, though newer engines being developed will meet standards.

Interesting though what this guy said to a parliamentary select committee (he favours Brexit)

Brexit’s lead economist Prof Patrick Minford on UK car industry:

“You are going to have to run it down ... in the same way we ran down the coal industry and steel industry. These things happen.”

Unfortunately there are going to be a lot of instances where those who voted for brexit will find a direct negative impact on their jobs etc. But no doubt "taking back" control will ease their pain.

    RAMOANERS the lot of you.
