Spike you are thinking of Big Niall Quinn (ex Sunderland) it was Niall McGinn who transformed the game for Aberdeen by bringing some much needed energy to their game.

Totally agree with the rest of your post, - and I must add that the referee made a huge mistake by awarding that penalty at 3-1. There was no intention whatsoever by Stirling, and as he indicated the ball was blasted at him (and as we all know) ricocheted off his abdomen.

The only appropriate award would have been an indirect free kick.......if anything.

Quinn-McGinn at least they rhyme if nothing else. You are spot on and I noticed this afterwards and wondered who would spot this deliberate error as Cpt Mainwaring would say

Hopefully there will not be too many injuries resulting from the game as we will need to be at near full strength for the visit of Dundee Utd next Saturday. A special mentioned to those supporters who simply never stopped signing for the whole of the match who are a credit to the club.
Got to agree wholeheartedly that the Queens fans were fantastic in their support in contrast to the silence of the Dons fans - maybe the more fanatical ones were amongst the 1,000s who did not turn up on the day.
