    The spine of the team

The potential of injuries all across the spine of the team,it's a bit of a concern who we will play.
Lenihan is out for 2 weeks,as luck would have it mulgrew is back,so no real concern there.
In the middle both Evans and Travis were injured,so what if both are out?
Smallwood and who in the middle?
Williams and mulgrew at the back allowing Rodwell to go in midfield?or use Rothwell as a more creative output?
Of course the biggest worry is dack and Graham going off injured
If both are out,who do you play?
Nuttall with brereton just behind?or nuttall with Armstrong/Rothwell behind?
Food for thought for tony Mowbray
Any way you look at it,the damage to the spine of the team is far more significant than the heavy loss on Saturday.

We do have options. That's the point of the squad. They won't all be missing anyway.
If Dack and Graham are out, its time to start Brereton. I'd play him up front with Armstrong. Lets see if that works?
I am not going to be overly critical of Nuttall but I am going to stick with my initial instincts. He isn't good enough for us. He isn't good enough for the Champ. Those 2 goals where slightly deceiving. One hit his ear, the other was laid on a plate and was an open goal. He isn't the physical presence he should be. And is NOT the answer. I like the lad, I WANT him to succeed. That doesn't mean he will. At least he's had his chance, like all our youngsters.

There is only one player missing for sure, Lenihan. Mulgrew is back. I'd bring Nyambe back, and play Bennett, Reed alongside Travis in midfield. Rothwell can play outwide where Arma plays normally, if he has to play up front. Evans is likely to miss the game, while he's been playing really well, we can survive a game without him. We also have Smallwood to step back in. I believe one of the young lads will be on the bench, we have 3 around the first team, very close.

And no wonder, the Under-23's smashed Leicester 7-1. And crazily, Butterworth didn't score, but made about 5. We have another set of 4/5 players who will progress into our first team currently. Keeping the production line going.

God bless Jack Walker.. I think he wanted the academy to be his biggest legacy.. Its turning out that way thanks to Venkys seeing it also as a priority..

Maybe one day we can be considered the north west version of West Ham/Southampton.. A renowned conveyor belt of footballing talent.
