I always felt that the money earned from the cup final was squandered on paying to much for bang average players which nearly brought the club to the verge of extinction not long afterwards. Any cash needs to wisely invested in the clubs long term future. It is a difficult conundrum to resolve Francis.

yep it was squandered on bang average players ,but i think davy rae did the right thing he put trust in his manager and went for the gamble ,now where queens were in standing at that time any backwards steps while we were on the move forward would have resulted in a backlash from the public ,none foreseen queens going into debt after such a great few seasons with league crowds averaging 3000 area and cup runs galore ,queens were on the verge of taking the next step and the dumfries public were taking notice ,nowadays theres nothing to interest the dumfries public regarding queens ,and yes we have mr dobbie but that alone isnt near enough to build up that sort of interest that thay had during those few years .

aloreburn i reckon queens 200k loss will prob be one of the lowest losses in the league ,id expect every club to have made a substantial loss .

iv tried to google it but cant find anything ,id like to see how queens 200k loss for this year stacks up in the grand scheme of things against all the other clubs cause i reckon we will prob be looking the best at a mere 200k loss than most other clubs .
