If you want to build a business and have football as a part of it, you need to have some strong profitable activities that you can use to offset the losses that you will make on the football side. I think the Americans are here to build a business empire and I'm hopeful that we become their European base. The football element may have been a relatively inexpensive way of getting a high profile business that has regular TV and press coverage and that seems to be why there are such major investors down south who have literally billions of pounds.

The Campy complex had lots of property elements, ice rink, housing, conference facilities, crematorium. It's a complex project and needs considerable planning consents regarding access and the use of the ground, some of which lies in Camperdown Park, I believe, and that will need to be demonstrably part of a donation to the community to get consent. The Caird Park development that is being carried out by DCC would seem to provide similar facilities so there might be trouble ahead.

I don't see redevelopment at Dens as being a big enough step change to the financing of a football team so I think we need to move. I think I'd be looking for a lump of land across the local authority boundary. Talk to Angus CC and see what they could do. Might the threat of a Deexit be enough to focus Dundee City Council?

You did ask for speculation. I'm afraid it's not much but if DCC won't or don't give permission, go somewhere close by where someone else will want to help.

No fine I like speculation although you do seem to hold a high regard for the Americans.

I do prefer our yanks to the Dabby version as he does seem to have bought the dabs as a bit of a toy...cud be wrong.

Any move outside the city boundary would be a no no for me.

Liked the Deexit concept. Agree it would be very controversial.
