A missed opportunity. Dundee turning noses up at a chance of extra cash from the gate.

I hope United are bit more sensible and take advantage of the possible extra revenue potential when we are the home side

It's sh!t. Has been for years. I implore the SFA to revert to evening games. Fridays a good shout. Once was on Fridays and we got four-figure gates. You're lucky if you catch your reserves twice a season. I haven't a phukn clue who any of them are. It's like they're getting concealed.

The problem with Friday’s is the first team manager would hold players back in case they’re needed on Saturday.

Look at Jamie Robson, he hadn’t played since 10th November so likely would’ve played reserve fixture and at short notice he was needed to play 95 minutes for the first team on Saturday.

Do we not play our reserve fixtures etc at the same stupid times and seldom at Tannadice. Seems to be a national trend to downgrade such fixtures to the point that only a man and a dog turn up to see them. Seems a pity that games v Dundee, Aberdeen and the ugly sisters reserve sides at least dont end up being played at Tannadice. Or am I wrong?

I'm fairly certain we play our reserve matches at St Andrews.

We've got young lads who play all their games on training pitches or empty lower league stadiums like Forfar etc even up to reserve level then we expect them to make the jump to playing in front of 4-5 even 6 thousand folk with no issues.

I'd have suggested reserve games need to be played at times that make it as easy as possible for the crowds to turn up.

Not only does it make some cash but it helps the younger players prepare for the jump to bigger crowds.

We are training footballers whose job it is to win matches and therefore entertain crowds of people into the thousands and yet in Scotland it seems we don't think they need to learn how to play in front of crowds bigger than a few folk at a training ground.

The pressure and scrutiny that comes with playing in front of thousands of fans is something we just expect them to pick up.

I would like us to play the games at Tannadice and encourage a crowd along.

Isn't this the problem that Brian Grant's new position has been created to resolve? Get players ready for first team...

I thought that was Craig Easton and Scott Robertson's job.
