    Where are they now?

OK girls and boys. Can you think of any previously successful teams that are currently wallowing up their own arses in oblivion? Sheffield Wednesday for example.

    Any more.....

Chimpo is stuffed with them so I'm going to go further down.

Coventry were a decent-ish sized team a while back and Portsmouth, similarly, had their day in the sun. Now both languishing in the mackems' current stomping ground.

I'm sort of remembering Carlisle United being top of the league in early eighties for a week or two. Or maybe that was the old second division?

I believe Portsmouth were at the top in the old division one for a spell when I first began watching football just after the war and would you believe at that time them and the Muckem were the only two teams to have spent their entire career in the top rank.

    How times have changed.
