    I’m incredulous at this decision.

All the thousands if dives we’ve seen in recent times and Gayle gets done.

What about Salah v us last season?

    Carzola for Arsenal against us.

    Both blatant!

They couldn’t run a f king whelk stall!

We certainly can do with out his loss.....
I'll be happy if it is now consistent....but just who is going to be sitting for hours going through each game looking for dives...
Holgath had a particularly nasty late tackle on him, which the ref never even looked at....The times are a changing alright....

And what about Ashley Young? Retrospective against the king of divers would mean he would never lace up his boots again. Personally I think it will be impossible to apply such action consistently and, most importantly, fairly.

Gayle's ban is just the start. Next season in the Prem VAR will be used to scrutinise every decision. Our FA Cup tie at Liverpool gave a preview of how it will be used. "Little club" scores against big club. But wait, in the build up 20 seconds before the ball went in the net, a big club player could have been fouled. Goal disallowed.
A Big club player falls over in the penalty area. Was there contact? Hard to say even after looking from several angles. "He's given a penalty."
The gap will just get wider until they clear off and form a European league.

I wouldn't want a free kick awarded every time a ball strikes a hand or arm. Refs need to use their discretion, same with fouls. Many now come from forwards deliberately making contact with defenders and being awarded free kicks. Pundits don't help, they look at a replay and once they see contact they claim a foul is the right decision. TV is to blame for all this.
Gayle wasn't deliberately tripped. Roofe's handball was deliberate, Rodders v Villa wasn't.

Every handball should be an offence even if accidental, the hand/arm is the only part of the body not allowed for use by an outfield player.

A “ball to hand” incident in the area should result in a penalty but to be taken from a new penalty spot 18 yards from goal.

If a player is clever enough to gain a “ball to hand” free kick or penalty then so be it.
