It's a pity players feel the need to cheat the way they do.
On second viewing there may be an argument that contact was made. I've no problem if the FA do want to start retrospectively banning players that cheat. Where that argument falls down is when the FA are inconsistent and are not even handed. I don't have the faith in this useless organisation that everyone will be treated fairly. Does anyone really think they will go after (say) Ashley Young with the same zeal they will go after a Championship player? Its one rule for one and one rule for another with the FA and indeed with the wider footballing world. There lies the problem.

I might be wrong but apart from it being theatrical it did look like his heel was clipped and he was avoiding three players boots!

In fairness - it was a clear dive! Mo Salah dives all the time to win penalties, so why should Gayle be picked on - more to the point!

If retrospective banning is going to become the norm, surely it should apply to some tackles that go unpunished because the officials didn't see them, and there were quite a few in the Forest game, while not condoning diving at least it doesn't injure a anybody

Did the ball cross the line or not? Sensors solved the problem. Was he clipped or did he dive? Camera footage will solve the problem.

Until then the arguments will rage. We had to complete the Sheff Wed game without Rodriguez who was incorrectly sent off, who punched one over the line against the Villa. Gayle, (who dives a lot) won us a penalty which gave us a point, now we lose him for two matches, everything evens out.

Huge loss that will be Blood. Who will Big Dave put on the wing?

As for Mo Salah - this cheating c unt dives for a penalty in almost every game so why should Gayle be victimized? Oh forgot - its Liverpool!

So now the FA have set a precedent, will they now be consistent? Don't hold your breath

Look at that Roofe handball in the video I posted above, they do fa about that and he actually scored with his hand.

If this pen had been missed by Jrod nothing would have happened.
