West Brom's Gayle banned for diving

Well that was an "accident" waiting to happen. Lets hope it is the first of many

Naked from the top board of Birmingham municipal baths was pushing his luck a bit to be honest.

Shame ref didn't get banned too, for not awarding a pen for foul on lolley.

I saw the dive on quest and it clearly was but strangely the Forest players didn’t appear to kick up much of a fuss, well not like players have in other shocking penalty awards.

Point deduction to the is the only way to stop it, two match ban means nothing to a player especially one on loan who still gets paid

Players diving, feigning injury, time wasting, getting booked on purpose and generally cheating. The game has less integrity now than the old World of Sport wrestling on a Saturday afternoon used to have. It's slowly destroying itself and FIFA/UEFA/FA/PFA are fiddling while it burns.

Well we've not got a deal to worry about. If our lads tried to dive they'd probably miss the ground.

2 match ban isn’t enough of a punishment

Consider this scenario, we’ve got WBA on the last match of the season. A win keeps us up but a draw sends us down. We get an early goal and battle well to keep it. The match gets to the 89th minute and Gayle takes a dive and the penalty is converted, no more goals and we go down.

    2 game ban?

    Not enough

The FA have no bottle to change the rules. I remember in Rugby League a few years ago there were instances of players arguing with the ref and crowds forming round the ref like we have at football. The Rugby League authorities just said if anyone behaves like this again its an immediate 6 match ban. The problem went away.

2 matches for cheating is ridiculous. It sends the wrong message to everyone including youngsters starting to play the game.

A two match ban for Gayle does nothing for Nottingham Forest who were cheated out of two points.
West Brom will keep the point they stole and the referee who awarded the ludicrous penalty gets no sanction against him.
You couldn't make it up ☹
