He always talked about other Manchester bands like the Stone Roses and The Smiths as influences, I can see the Stone Roses, similar "lads music" but not The Smiths who were much more introspective, The Smiths if Johnny Marr had been the singer and no Morrissey maybe.

If you look at 90 percent of pop music there is no originality at all. Only the image of the person singing the song is different. This can be proven scientifically by looking at the chord progressions in music. For example the fifties were built on the 1-6-4-5 progression and the masses kept lapping it up, buying the same song over and over again.

There is very little originality if people open their ears. Pop music just like football. It is just an illusion that people buy into.
There's only a limited number of tunes and most of them have been done I suppose.

Unless you make "music" like that atonal racket you posted the other week

The thing is it's not that easy just to nick stuff or be influenced by it you have to have an eye and a nose to use it effectively in your own stuff .

You then have to have a look and an attitude about you , that union jack guitar is iconic .

The fact they never move around the stage , just stand and play with Liam just staring at the crowd .

Not many bands can capture the times like they most certainly did .

    Never hid from anything .

    " we take drugs ....and !!! "

" glad to get away from the council estate and be rich and famous "

" do I feck get on with Liam , he's my brother ain't he not my mate "

Loved their honesty instead of pretentious bull shyte .
    Not pretentious!!!!!

You are kidding me. If he has a skill it is providing soundbites in interviews.

It's interesting how your defence of your hero has already drifted into image and style.

You mention his iconic guitar, you mention his intereview quotes....that is because regarding the actual music there is nothing to say.

You have been sold a pup, pal.

You could say the same about The Beatles though couldn't you ?

The early hair styles and suits , the Abbey Road and Sergeant Pepper album sleeves and Lennon's we are more famous than Jesus Christ .

If you connect with a sound then the people who have given you that become more interesting .

    It's just human nature .

If you Gallagher up against somebody like a Michael Stipe (REM) you can soon see who is talented and who's not . The oasis fad and subsequent spin off from both the Gallagher twins never really bothered me its not my type of music . At best some of there stuff is catchy.

Two raggy assed working class brothers from a broken home and a Manchester council estate get a shot at making something of themselves and not only do they take it but place themselves right up there with the best of all time .

Not envious are you by any chance old boy that they took their shot ?

Unfulfilled ambitions can be a monkey on anyone's back !!!!
