    Swansea v Brentford (FA Cup)

Tough one to call this one, with Brentford on a good run with 1 defeat in 12 matches.
Swans have a bit of an injury crisis with several players injured, plus the fire sale of three players in the January transfer window make it hard for Graham Potter to put a competitive side together.
They do have home advantage though, and with the match having been moved to a Sunday 4pm kick off due to live tv coverage, the extra day will help the players recovery time from a tough match at Leeds last Wednesday.

A lot of Jack Army North East corner missing for this one and consequently the chanting was muted as Brentford fans out sang us. They had good cause too as we were outplayed first half by a solid and skilful Brentford side. After one attack broke down Brentford scored the opening goal on the counter in the 28th min, Maupay laying on the assist for Watkins and we went in at half time having had one shot on target.
It was all change second half as we came out fighting and it was a shot from an acute angle inside the box by Celina that hit the post and bounced off the goalkeeper into the net for the equaliser on 49 min.
James with a great solo run the length of the pitch gave us the lead for the first time in the 53rd min.
Central defender Konsa was sent off in the 61st min for callously bringing down James as he ran through on goal again.
Brentford couldn’t contain us and Celina dribbled around three players to score the third in the 66th min
Roberts had the ball in the net again moments later but was, in my opinion mistakenly, ruled offside by the linesman after the ref first of all gave the goal.
Byers scored in the 90th minute with a ground shot to the bottom left hand corner of the goal to round off what was a great second half comeback.
The Quarter Final draw takes place Monday night.

I was right in line with the alleged off side goal and it wasn’t off side. The linesman was too slow keeping up with play so how he saw an offside pass was puzzling to everyone around me.
Great fight back by the Swans after a poor first half and it was a pleasure to see two teams with attacking intent for the whole match, which is the joy of watching FA Cup matches.
Man of the Match - Dan James, he was unstoppable.

We’ve drawn Man City, the hardest team left in the competition. At least we have a home tie, but if the club were looking for money then a game at the Etihad would have raised more funds.

Daniel James came top in a BBC Poll for the best goal of the FA Cup 5th round.
