"What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love".
One of my favourite quotes that.

The late Ronnie Simpson was a great team man Slox, at 5'10" quite small for a goalie by today's standards but the most agile out of the hundreds I've seen and what positioning and anticipation.

If he'd been playing today and 4/5" taller he'd be the best the world had known.

He finished here at the Toon at the age of 30, had four seasons at Hibs then retired to coach at Celtic only to take over the jersey when they had a crisis then played 5 times more for Scotland (when they were a real tram) at the age of 37.

    What a great he was.

Tell that to Ashley Geordie a thousand times and he wouldn't understand it in a lifetime.
