Not surprised at all. When you play with one main striker nearly every match you deserve a difficult time winning matches. Scoring goals win you matches and we don’t score enough especially as a home team.

I'm not convinced that it's to do with only playing one main striker. Look at celtic who only play with one main striker yet they have won 13 out of 13. I see it slightly differently in that we simply don't have enough creativity in our other 5 non-defenders. This season GMS/McGinn have been far too hot and cold, May hasn't worked in the No 10 (Stewart might - too early to say) and Shinnie/Ferguson are generally good at what they do, but being creative isn't really their strength. We are badly missing a Ryan Christie (first half of last season) or Kenny McLean (second half of last season) type player.

Two problems. First is losing too many goals. But that happens when you don`t have a settled defence.
Devlin missing for a good while. McKenna injured too. And of course both got red cards for nothing.

Second . Not scoring enough goals. Well, Deek persevered with Big Sam
and he didn`t start scoring until December.

Plus we have spent the whole season passing it SLOWLY about across the field, and not getting it forward to give the wingers a chance to set up the chances.

Ach. There is more than two problems .....!!

For a manager who's known for his pragmatism, that's a p1ss poor goals against record.
We couldn't keep clean sheets against Stenhousemuir in either game FFS.

I think the "1striker is negative" narative us lazy.
Yes, it can be, but when we played a striker with Hayes, McGinn and Christie in behind, that's effectively a front four.
Cosgrove, with Stewart off and McGinn and GMS/MacLennan wide is hardly a negative formation, albeit with only one striker.
It's as much to do with mentality, tactics, height of the line, depth of pressing than the formation.

The league form has been poor in the last 5 or 6 games but we still have the 4th best home record in the league.

Amazingly we have the best away record in the league,so basically if we played all of our games away from Pittodrie we would be champions

Milne and McInnes have turned Pittodrie into a morgue with their positivity. That’s why we are better on the road than at home. On Saturday I noticed whilst watching on my RedTV international subscription that the home support were getting on the players backs an awful lot. They had have been better getting on Milne and McInnes’ back as these are the 2 idiots holding us back.
