They are average though. if they were this great passing energetic side a lot of our fanbase claim they are we'd be sat top or they'd be playing for Watford or Wolves in the premiership wouldn't they

They are sat 7th in the championship playing some of the dreariest football we've seen since Clement. Youve mentioned 5 games there and that's pretty much it isn't it? even teams like Ipswich can pick out 4 or 5 games during the season, its about consistency and we have none zero zip

Lampard is so passionless and that's the biggest problem imo, a passionless manager who think he's inherited the likes of Didier Drogba

Before Morris came in we have a good young team, a trimmed squad, debt free and in a fantastic position to kick on

Instead he goes out like a mad kid in a sweet shop by green ligghting all all kinds of different cr**, then Hughes gets injured and instead of just using what we had he green lights the most pointless signings of all time in Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield

Then in January of that season allows Clement to sign the most pointless signings in history again with Blackman and Camara

Then hires Pearson to start a rebuild only to sack him 10 games in and bring back the most pointless manager at that time in Mac 2,, And then gives Lampard free rein to bring in 25 players of which 70% of them he doesn't even play or drops after a decent game.... to defend Morris for this shower is ridiculous.

All Mel has done is take a punt on a manager and backed him as much as he could, financially.

Morris hasn't spent a penny, recklessly or otherwise. He has backed the manager he appointed which is exactly what a good owner does.
I stand by my opinion that Lampard was and isn't the right choice, I was always shouting for Dean Smith during the summer and thought he was a much safer option having done what he'd done at Brentford, the style of play Smith used at Brentford was what Morris and the fans wanted? he'd have been cheaper, and I think we could have used this season to slowly get rid of the aging cloggers. Instead he brings in Lampard who was always going to have his head turned at the first oppo, let him sign a truck load of players. The only consolation really is that the likes of Bryson etc will be gone in the summer if the club doesn't do another doo doo and give them new contracts that is.

You can’t have it both ways DCFCA. Morris has been attacked for being too hands on and now you’re lambasting him for ‘green lighting’ managers’ choices...aka, financing managerial choices and not interfering.

I agree that bringing back McClaren was a mistake but your obsession with Pearson is just odd. He’s a very flawed individual imo who’s had about two successful seasons in his whole career and was dreadful at Derby. The football we’ve produced in recent weeks may have been poor but it’s better than we managed under Pearson and what has he achieved since...a couple of rapid pay offs I believe.

Lampard has a lot to learn and has hit the buffers this season. His transfer dealings, tactics and general strategy leave a lot of room for improvement but he is young and inexperienced and your ‘25 players/70% unplayed’ suggestion is just bollux.

Yes it was embarrassing last night But if we're to believe everything you say we would be down there with Rotherham and Bolton but we are not

Can't understand your fixation with Dean Smith has got the best squad in the Championship at Villa spent millions have by far the high highest wage structure and where are they He's not took over an aging overpaid squad that needed immediately surgery As for Pearson he's just been sacked yet again he's a complete head case He only ever did anything in the back of Craig Shakespeare knowledge What manager would change Hughes into a holding midfielder Then send that person our whole team revolved around (Martin) in loan

Pearson took Leicester up with 102 points and essentially built the side that won the Prem

He had similar problems at Leicester when he went there the 2nd time, overpaid primma donnas

Dean Smith hasn't got the best squad in the league at Villa, they are like us in that they have some decent individuals but mainly its a overbloated squad full of bang average footballers. I bet he takes them up next season if given the chance.

If he is as good as you say, why does he keep getting sacked?
