Not really following this. Read the article that Grist linked to but not got access to anything else. The article seems to be saying that rmbc are recycling plastics but this will lead to increased council tax.
I see from GF Annie that this doesnt include all plastics and that may be the case. But please set out
1. What exactly do you want the council to do in addition to what it has been doing?
2. Are you happy to pay the extra for any extra provision? Especially as your party has cut rmbc's budget by over 15 million quid. Isn't that a lot of money in addition to the previous 10 years of cuts?
Doesn't strike me as a socialist thing. Just that if you want a service for the environment (which like you I care about), we need to pay for it don't we? And if the money isn't coming from central government anymore, and further cuts are made to your allocated budget, then surely local tax players have to pay for it? If that's what we want? What exactly are you complaining about?
