Pre and post Premier League best bits

If you could combine the best bits about watching or going to the match from before and after the Premier League was established, what would they be?

Maybe I'm looking through rose-tinted specs but I would certainly take the lack of diving from pre Prem footy. .and the physicality, too although not the ridiculous 'reducers' that so-called hard men would put in.

From the Prem era, the stadiums are better (the Gallowgate bogs, man) and maybe the quality of football is better? Being able to watch so much footy on telly is a double edged sword, I suppose.

    Thoughts..

Although I enjoy the comfort of all seating and the guaranteed view, the atmosphere at St. James' Park was fantastic in the 50's and 60's particularly during the great cup runs.

And the singing in the queues waiting to get in was something else.

Enjoyed before the Prem. I always stood halfway up in the Leazes and the noise and feeling were excellent. Every player had there own song or chant after them. Something you don't hear so much nowadays.
