Same position, Sota! We could be dangerous on here!

Spurley supplied a good few player for Rotherham Rugby Club back in the day. Remember the Wilson brothers and the Wards.

Rugby Union is a much more character building game than football.

Just thank your lucky stars though that football doesn’t have 15 players like rugby union.

Warne would be playing a 7-6-1 formation.

I played scrum half at school back in the 70 s .

One of the teams we played was a certain Queen Elizabeth Grammar School from Wakefield .

It was the game , our PE teaches who were no doubt all typical 70's communists drilled it in to us that this was a must win game at any cost .

As posh as some of their lads were they were all pretty handy and big .

It was bloody carnage out there , there were no rules against QEGS as they were known .

We rarely beat them but during my final year we did eventually turn them over .

Our teachers were ecstatic , we were like kings following that narrow victory , they even gave us full school colours on the strength of it , no more red tie but a blue special one that had you down as a somebody .

It wasn't so much a rugby match but more class warfare .

I've never played since , brutal game and I'd done my bit to win the class war at 15 years of age so what more could you achieve .

I enjoyed that animal! Had a similar “battle” against a grammar school in a different area but we never managed to beat them.

Rugby league is a much more skill full game.
