Football supporters are so fickle.
Of course it is a results business, but there is a massive difference between a manager and a set of players who are not gelling or giving the shirt 100%. I can only see every Queens player giving their all for the shirt, the manager and the fans, - and the only thing that's not working is - we're sadly not getting the results.
You only have to look at Chelsea and the farce with their goalkeeper.......that's a team who are not playing for their manager.
Even contemplating talking about the writing being on the wall for Naysmith is adding unnecessary pressure upon the manager at this difficult time, - so why are some of us doing so?
Could we cut the man a bit of slack, - and could we also acknowledge that we the supporters were all demanding free-flowing, attractive football from the manager just a few short weeks ago, - but now all we allegedly want is points?
A psychiatrist would have an impossible task trying to assess a football fan's problem, - although schizophrenia might be a starting point.
It will be interesting to see how many Queens fans are at Cappielow tomorrow night as Queens try stopping this run of defeats.
I would guess there will be about the same number going tomorrow night as there would have been had we won or drawn on Saturday. This is now a very important game, a six pointer to use a cliche, so hopefully the team gets a good backing.
As for the Manager's position, If we stay in this division, whether automatically or via the relegation playoffs, I think he will/should be kept on, unless he decides otherwise himself, if we're unfortunate enough to go down the whole playing/managerial structure will need revised anyway so it might largely depend on what money will be available to keep him and what adequate replacements are available at the time. Prior to Naysmith we've had a fair turnover in Managers in the past few years, we really need to get some stability back into the club.
Here, here auld chippy!
Naysmith out!
