The average attendance of the European Cup games for those 2 seasons was 32k. The original poster mentioned "when winning their stars" so the average is based on the 8 cup games played. So, no, it is not take news.

32K in 2 successive EC winning campaigns at a stadium where the 78/79 season saw you get 41K for Spurs and 38K for Liverpool and a League average for the season of 29K is very poor. 26K average in the League the season after

Cloughie couldn't fill the stadium when you were good. How do you expect to get 10K more in now or in the near future?

We also have plans to go to 44K following one successful PL season........ again too many for us IMO.

Derby averaged 26500 the last time they won the league. That's poor for a one club city. As for Forest we averaged 32500 with 9000 at Notts.

Forest are yet to receive the plastics from the Premier League bubble, the prawn sandwich bacteria spawned post Euro 96. Coupled with a nice posh stand which may bring out more plastics (12000 were spawned when Derby got a shiney new stadium), the potential is exciting. This is before we even consider the possible relegation below the Conference for Notts or liquidation.

It's been ages since we've had a "we're a bigger club than you are" pointless debate

I thought that was the background to the Brexit discussion?

The difference being that, following the introduction of all seater stadium rules, the BBG only held 19K. Those 12K wanted to go but couldn't due to the low capacity at the all seater BBG. You aren't filling what you have. We were.

The facts say otherwise with crowds similar to Notts County in some years before your new stadium dipping as low as 10k and never averaging more than 17k.

Last handful of our home games have been sold out. The club's words, not mine.
