    Club Statement

Notts County have received assurances from Paragon Interiors’ administrators that they are supportive of Owner and Chairman Alan Hardy’s attempts to sell the club.

Paragon went into administration yesterday and representatives from Leonard Curtis have since been in close consultation with Mr Hardy.

Meanwhile, the club wish to make supporters aware of their ongoing dialogue with HMRC.

Club representatives have been in detailed discussions with HMRC officials since a payment became due just three weeks ago.

The club offered a payment plan starting on 21 February to clear the debt in full over a four-week period. However, HMRC have taken what Notts County consider to be an extremely aggressive approach, which has seen HMRC issue a winding up petition against the club.

As a result, this winding up petition has now been listed.

Supporters are assured that the matter will be settled in good time.

What with the proposed payment plan being submitted to the HMRC and the apparent holding of fire, of the Paragon Administrators, is the proposed takeover real or near? I'm assuming that the Administrators would have needed to see some kind of details regarding the sale of the club, for them to not march into Meadow Lane demanding payments?

A nervous time but Notts' fans have no option other than to trust that Mr Hardy is not speaking with a forked tongue.

Pretty much agree with Sidders. If the Club is at an advanced stage of discussions re a takeover, there shouldn't be any surprises for the buyers re finances. That's part of the point of an NDA, it allows full disclosure of all company documents without fear of them being made public. No way of knowing from the outside until something is announced officially. The Club statement re HMRC rings true though, they seem to take a particularly tough stance against football clubs.

I think we have had this problem since Munto were here the debt isn't going away unless someone says here is a cheque for £10m wipe all the debts then we will be truely debt free we never have been regardless of what has been said by certain people.

Bhatia & Strang will be lurking maybe !!

What a pity HMRC don't adopt the same approach to Amazon, Facebook and the many other Tax swindlers that have the "Right Connections" within the establishment.

There must be a lot of idiots at HMRC - if the club is wound up, they will get nothing! - the words ‘shoot & foot’ come to mind

What can actually get any worse this week at Notts, day after day of bad news !

    # Hardy confirms a takeover deal will be sealed next week with the Oyston family.
    # Neal and Neil to be replaced by joint managers Jamie Fullerton & Guy Branston.

    Any more ?
