I think the loss of Harvey Barnes has left Moore befuddled.

    He looks utterly lost.

I thought DM was a poor choice and I said so at the start,I can’t see Jenkins hanging around much longer.

We quickly need a lift for fans and players and someone experienced in getting sides promoted.

Surely Pearson is worth a go at this point regardless of his ego or the German who did such a stellar job at Huddersfield.

What a painful match to have to sit through, awful from the second the teamsheet was put out. I honestly wonder, quality aside, after ten years in the Premier League we actually know how to get up for playing big games in the Championship like Sheff Utd and Leeds. To those teams they’re cup finals , to us it’s like playing Bolton, Ipswich etc, we don’t seem to differ.

Last week with Sheff Utd, this week even more so with Leeds they’re both at it from the off, well organised and fit, yes FIT.

I don’t know whats worse, the manner of the performance, the score line, or seeing a player who I preyed we wouldn’t sell walk away with the MOTM award.

And while I’m on about Tyler Roberts, can someone explain how we get to keep Sam Field while Roberts and Roofe go elsewhere and seem light years ahead?

Darren 4-4-2 F-F-S or I think you’ll be back looking after the kids mate I’m afraid.

Roberts was offered contracts and wouldn't sign, got the same agent as Izzy Brown was after a big signing on fee when he become out of contract. Albion had no choice to sell or risk tribunal. Roofe dropped down to the 3rd div and come good.
Need to get Harper and the other kids signed up.

I get all of that Soulman, and as I recall you’re right with your facts. What I don’t get is when we put so much effort in over the course of many years with these kids, just when the pan is coming to the boil we take it off the heat.
As I remember Roofe was at Oxford, he was really coming good aswell, scoring regularly then we decide to let him go, why? Why did his development as a West Bromwich Albion player end there?

Tyler Roberts was impressing at Walsall, he too was just coming good, then again we lose him. Ok, I accept that he was offered something more lucrative but it begs the question, do we know when to stop treating them as kids and start recognising their capability of being good enough to have a positive effect in higher division matches? We saw the paltry wages Berahino was on compared to others, yes he ended up being a prat but as with Roberts others were ready and waiting to pay him more.

Ultimately, being in the Premier League means your kids don’t get a sniff, our current crop of academy players are earning rave reviews. It seems that we either stay at this level where they’re more likely to get exposure to first team football, ala Southampton, or we get promoted and they’re deemed not good enough and end up at the likes of Oxford again.

We have plenty coming through who I’m hoping we can get it right with, Morgan Rogers for example. An Albion fan who has been with the club since he was seven and has just won PL2 Player of the Month. One thing I will say for Darren Moore is we may end up thanking him for the exposure he’s giving Harper, as long term it’s encouraging the likes of Rogers that the path to first team football is well and truly open, hence they may be more likely to stick around.....

....as long as we can fend off the vultures and be seen to reward them.
