Things have changed massively in the world of sport (not only football) that renders big city clubs as having no more potential than a small town club with a quarter of a potential fan base.

I often wonder, if Sir John had known what a scheming, lying, cheating shyster Ashley was going to turn into would he have sold the club to him or waited until a dedicated football type owner was found to sell to.

He would have sold anyway. The chairman (Shepherd) was in hospital when Hall sold his shares to fatso.

I'll leave all that for you to decide. We can't all live in Newcastle, but then again, do we have to? Do we need to?
I get by quite well living 35 miles away and being a Newcastle fan for nearly 50 years.
