When asked the question "How many points will Birmingham be deducted?" the unsurprising response from the EFL was "Just enough to keep them in The Championship"

    We're Rotherham United.

    We get treated differently!!!

There's plenty of evidence out there.

Absolutely f@ck the EFL. Joke organisation when it comes to clubs like us and clubs like the aforementioned.

Does anyone on here seriously think a club like Birmingham, Coventry, Blackpool or Bolton would be allowed to go under, not a F@cking chance and it makes my blood boil....

Some good honest clubs gone under over the years. Unfortunately they weren't big clubs 75 years ago so were allowed to do so...

I would imagine that the football authorities take a look at each club, their ability to appoint top legal advice and how deep their pockets are.
RUFC are relative paupers so there was an immediate 3 point deduction for Rawson,s paperwork.
Brum however are much better equipped to fight a prolonged legal challenge.

The football authorities pick on the weak and shy away from the strong.

Same thing happened with WHU / SUFC and the Tevez affair.

Again Bolton takeover talks end, facing winding up tomorrow.

Will they pull a rabbit out the hat this time?

Maybe EFL didn’t do them much good in ignoring the rule breaks, if they had done their job then it Bolton might have sorted the problems out before now.

Bolton Wanderers' High Court hearing over an unpaid tax bill of £1.2m has been adjourned until 3 April.

The Championship club, who are up for sale, received a winding-up petition from HM Revenue & Customs in February.

However, it is understood owner Ken Anderson has agreed terms with a buyer who is willing to pay off their debts.

On Tuesday, Bolton confirmed takeover talks with an interested party, believed to be the Football Ventures consortium, had ended.

    More to follow.

Shouldn't that say "More b.ollocks to follow"?

From our own experience isn't there a date in March which decides any points deduction will either take place this season or is deferred until next season ?

Here's what Wrinkly posted on the Bolton transfer embargo thread:-

Waiting until they can't stay up (rather than the end of the season) to go into admin won't necessarily mean they will have the points deducted this season. That used to happen and a few clubs got points deducted which didn't really matter as they were down anyway. So the league changed the rules.
    Here's an extract:

    a)

    during the Normal Playing Season but prior to 5.00pm on the fourth Thursday in March, the points deduction shall apply immediately;

    b)

during the Normal Playing Season but after 5.00pm on the fourth Thursday in March, Regulation 12.3.4 shall apply; and

    c)

outside the Normal Playing Season, the points deduction shall apply in respect of the following Season such that the Club starts that Season on minus 12 points (including in the National League if appropriate).

    12.3.4

Where the circumstances set out in Regulation 12.3.3(b) apply and at the end of that Season, having regard to the number of championship points awarded (ignoring any potential deduction):

    a)

the Club would be relegated in accordance with Regulation 10.1.2(b) or 7.7, the points deduction will apply in the next following Season (including in the National League if appropriate); or

    b)

the Club would not be relegated as aforesaid, the points deduction will apply in that Season and Regulation 10.1.2(b) or 7.7 will then apply (if appropriate) following imposition of the points deduction."

    In summary:

    1. Admin before 5pm on 4th Thursday in March = immediate 12 point deduction
    2. Admin after that time/date and if the club would have been relegated even without the points deduction = 12 points deduction following season
    3. Admin after that time/date and the club would not be relegated without a points deduction = 12 points deduction at the end of the season and, if this puts the club into a relegation position, they will be relegated (if not - they stay up)
