Well if he breaks a leg we are truly knacked. We would have to put Ajayi up front as our only option or one of the young forwards, We seriously need to be getting Kayode ot Lewthwaite on the bench now at least in case we do need to call em up in an emergency. I also hope they are both training with the first team now just in case.

He'd probably get it bandaged up and carry on as normal! It's only a scratch...
Seriously though, our failure to have any achievable emergency replacement signing lined up, or to at least put Lewthwaite on the bench for match day experience/occasional game time (think Kayode has been injured for some of that time) is difficult to excuse

I wonder if the failure to sign a striker in January is the real reason for the departure of Jamie Johnson?
Don't forget we have Jerry Yates on the bench now.........I know, I know 😊.
Has there been any recent information about the situation with Kyle Vassell? To be honest, even if he was fit he wouldn't be able to do the job that Smudger does so I guess the only option would be to give Semi a trial run up front.
It just shows how totally reliant we have become on one player, and an ex-Bury reserve at that!

We’ll probably see Vassell back after international break, been doing well on grass according to Warney

When Vassell underwent surgery, Warney said on Radio DeeDah that he was hoping for a return around the end of March. Great that Ajayi has got a few goals recently, but it would be tough for anybody to learn how to play as a centre forward, at short notice, in the middle of a battle against relegation, at Championship level. For some reason, RUFC never seems to anticipate fairly likely problems...

I said a few months since that Ajayi was causing problems in the Millers defence, so put
him up forward and let him cause problems in opponents penalty area.

Stranger things have happened, I've thought a few times it would be interesting to see Ajayi given a go upfront with some of his finishes.

Rob Scott was signed as a striker for us and ended up in defence amongst others IIRC, switching to the other end of the field isn't that unheard of.
