    Reserve Cup Final

Does anyone know when this year's reserve cup final will take place and if there is any sponsorship attached to it?

The game will indeed be played on 1 April.....at Tynecastle. Why couldn't a neutral venue have been selected. Its a cup final after all and will afford Hearts an advantage.

Hardly a major final though and playing at someone's home ground means there's more likely to be a handful of folk showing up.

I don't know if reserve finals were ever at a neutral venue, I have vague recollection of Fir Park hosting the final in 1991 which we lost to Dundee United.

Its more the principle of the situation. To the clubs and players its a major final. Finals should be organsied so as to give the participants an equal chance of winning dependent upon what happens on the field of play. This is clearly not the case here.

Is it? It's not the youth cup final, the pinnacle of your age-group career, it's a competition for folk not good enough to play in the first team. Shrugging it off to one of those involved makes perfect sense to me, I'd be amazed if there's any complaint at all from Fir Park.
