Is it time to sacrifice J Rod?

When think of the new manager’s options and possible formations I have the same problem I did under DM when I look at our most effective first eleven.

I realised that I was constantly putting J Rod in the eleven without questioning his worth.

He might actually be a big part of our problem.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the new boss look to experience at this point in the season and for Brunt and Morrison to find themselves back to the fore.

I’d like to see Myhill in goal but expect Johnstone to keep his shirt.

    Holgate
    Hegazi
    Dawson
    Gibbs or Brunt at LB

    Phillips if fit or Murphy
    Barry
    Field
    Brunt or Murphy
    Morrison or Harper

    HRK or Gayle

I don’t think we have the squad to play 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 is maybe a better option at this time.

When you try to pick a side from our squad it makes it really obvious just how lacking we are because almost nothing seems to look or feel right.

    No big,powerful centre forward

    No dynamic attacking midfielder

A lack of pace and trickery on the flanks.

Much as I’m no fan of Rondon you can imagine with him alongside Gayle it would’ve been more of an all round threat than any other combination we now have.

So is J Rod the problem or the solution?

Said all season we lack that powerful CF to complement Gayle, someone like Wood,oh hold on a bit, short sightedness is our default

JRod has lots a talent and skill but I agree I don’t see how he fits into our side.
Takes a good penalty however. But I doubt Gayle will get another one this season unless it’s an obvious GBH job and the police need to be called.
